Abstract

Dewi Shabrina Aisyah
The stability test of Meloxicam Nanostructured Lipid Carrier (NLC) at 25°C was
declared stable because it did not undergo physical and chemical changes during
storage. Meloxicam has a log P of 3.43 meaning low solubility in water. NLC is an
extension of SLN and consists of solid lipids and liquid lipids. To increase the
bioavailability of the preparation, the drug design in the form of NLC was
developed. This study aims to determine the effect of differences in samples stored
at 25°C and 40°C from organoleptic tests, pH, particle size, and entrapment
efficiency. In the organoleptic test at 25°C, stable results were obtained and at 40°C
there was a change in color and consistency for the NLC system. Preparation of
NLC by selecting solid lipid Glyceryl monostearate (GMS), liquid lipid Caprylic
triglyceride, and surfactant Tween 80. Organoleptic test at 40°C showed a change
in color and consistency and at 25°C showed ideal results for the NLC system, pH
value which is produced at a temperature of 25°C and 40°C meets the skin pH range
of 4.5-6.5, the value of the particle size that meets the particle size range of 10-1000
nm is at a temperature of 25°C on day 0 (462.36 nm) and at a temperature of 40°C
on all days that did not meet the particle size range, the entrapment efficiency test
values that met the trapping efficiency range of 80-99% were produced at a
temperature of 25°C on day 14 (89.2%), 28 ( 86.70%), and 56% (89.25%), and at a
temperature of 40°C on day 0 (88.4%), 28 (88.12%), and 56 (88.56%) . Statistical
test using Two Way ANOVA with Minitab 16.0 software on the entrapment
efficiency test showed a value (p < 0.05) meaning there was a significant change.
