Abstract

Measuring bank health can help and facilitate bank management to make the right and appropriate decisions. This decision will later be useful for improving performance and financial quality which in the future is expected to be able to bring recovery momentum that can accelerate the transition process towards a more effective sharia financial sector. This research is used to measure how healthy the level of health of private Islamic banks is using the RGEC and CAMELS methods. Research data were obtained from financial reports and then analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of measuring the soundness level using the RGEC method in the first quarter of 2021-first quarter of 2022 as a whole show that PT Bank Muamalat Tbk and PT. Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk is included in the "HEALTHY" category (PK-2), PT. Bank Mega Syariah Tbk and PT. Bank BTPN Syariah Tbk and PT. Bank Panin Dubai Syariah Tbk is included in the "LESS HEALTHY" category (PK-4). Whereas for the CAMELS method, the overall health level of private Islamic banks in the first quarter of 2021-first quarter of 2022 PT Bank Muamalat Tbk and PT Bank Panin Dubai Syariah Tbk fall into the "LESS HEALTHY" category (PK-4), PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk, PT Bank Mega Syariah Tbk and PT Bank BTPN Syariah Tbk are included in the “VERY HEALTHY” category (PK-1).
