Project based learning adalah pembelajaran yang berbasis proyek. Peserta didik dibimbing untuk mengeksplorasi, menilai, interpretasi, sistesi dan informasi secara berkelompok kemudian dipresentasikan yang berguna untuk proses pembelajaran peserta didik. Model pembelajaran ini merupakan model pembelajaran yang inovatif dan melibatkan kerja proyek dimana para peserta didik bekerja secara mandiri dalam merekontruksi pembelajarannya dan mewujudkan menjadi produk nyata. Tujuan penelitian: 1) Meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL). 2) Mengetahui respon mahasiswa terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran project based learning pada mahasiswa tata busana Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya
Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu menggunakan yaitu penyebaran angket dan dokumentasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa tata busana Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 50 mahasiswa tata busana dengan teknik analisis yang digunakan yaitu Uji-T.
Hasil penelitian: 1) ada keefektifan model pembelajaran project based learning (PjBL) dalam meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa tata busana universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya mengenai teknik shibori. 2) Ada respon mahasiswa terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran project based learning pada praktif pembuatan shibori di universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya.

Project based learning is project-based learning. Students are guided to explore, assess, interpret, systemize and information in groups and then present it which is useful for the students' learning process. This learning model is an innovative learning model and involves project work where students work independently in reconstructing their learning and turning it into a real product. Research objectives: 1) Increase student competency by using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model. 2) Knowing student responses to the application of the project based learning model for fashion design students at PGRI Adi Buana University Surabaya
The research method uses a quantitative approach. The data collection technique uses questionnaires and documentation. The population in this study were fashion design students at PGRI Adi Buana University, Surabaya. The sample in this research was 50 fashion students with the analysis technique used, namely the T-test.
Research results: 1) there is the effectiveness of the project based learning (PjBL) learning model in increasing the competency of fashion design students at PGRI Adi Buana University Surabaya regarding shibori techniques. 2) There is a student response to the application of the project based learning model in practical shibori making at PGRI Adi Buana University Surabaya.
