Abstract

ABSTRAK
Tanaman kunyit memiliki kandungan Kurkumin sedangkan jahe memiliki kandungan Flavonoid yang mampu menghambat pertumbuhan antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas antibakteri dari ekstrak jahe, kunyit dan kombinasi dalam penghambat bakteri
Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherchia coli. Rancangan penelitian terdiri dari
3 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan dengan perlakuan ekstrak jahe(5%,10%,15%,20%), ekstrak kunyit (5%,10%,15%,20%), ekstrak kombinasi (5%,10 %,15%,20%). Parameter yang diukur yaitu zona hambat pada bakteri Escherichia coli dan Stahylococcus aureus. menunjukan bahwa pengobatan berpengaruh nyata terhadap zona hambat tertinggi masing-masing pada ekstrak jahe pada konsentrasi 20% sebesar 51,4mm pada bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, pada ekstrak kunyit pada konsentrasi 20% sebesar
53,63mm pada bakteri Staphylococcus aureus sedangkan pada ekstrak kombinasi pada konsentrasi 20% sebesar 49,55mm pada bakteriStaphylococcus aureus.
Kata kunci : Kunyit, Jahe, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherchia coli.
ABSTRACT
Turmeric plants contain curcumin while ginger contains flavonoids
which can inhibit the growth of antibacterials. This study aims to determine
the antibacterial effectiveness of ginger, turmeric and combination extracts
in inhibiting Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria. The
research design consisted of 3 treatments and 6 replications with ginger
extract (5%,10%,15%,20%), turmeric extract (5%,10%,15%,20%),
combination extract (5%,10 %,15%,20%). The parameters measured were
the inhibition zone on Escherichia coli and Stahylococcus aureus bacteria.
showed that the treatment had a significant effect on the highest inhibition
zone respectively in ginger extract at a concentration of 20% of 51.4 mm on
Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, on turmeric extract at a concentration of 20%
of 53.63 mm on Staphylococcus aureus bacteria while in the combination
extract at a concentration of 20 % of 49.55 mm in Staphylococcus aureus
bacteria.
