This study aimed at proving whether or not English animation
movie could improve students’ listening achievement in SMA Negeri 1 Driyorejo. According to the findings of the pra-cycle of observations, Language students of SMA Negeri 1 Driyorejo had problems assimilating the lesson materials. It was caused the students lack of vocabulary and they did not understand what native speakers said. In obtaining the data, there were 35 students contained 9 males and 26 females in Language Class at SMA Negeri 1 Driyorejo. This study used classroom action research. The data in this study were
observation, test, and questionnaire. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive qualitative for observation, and descriptive statistic
for listening test and questionnaire. There were three steps such as, pra-cycle, cycle I and cycle II for collecting the data. The result showed the use of animated movies as media had greatly improved students' listening skills. It was found by comparing the result of pre-test, post-test I and post-test II. Based on the data obtained, the researcher concluded that students’ listening achievement improved
after using English animation movie. Students who reached the minimum score criteria were 3% for pre-test, 46% for post-test I and 77% for post-test II. From the result of observations, there indicated the improvement of students understanding about explanation text. There were 71,4% students who strongly agreed that they enjoyed learning from animation movie. This indicated that there was
improvement of students’ listening achievement in SMA Negeri 1 Driyorejo while using animation movie.

Studi ini bertujuan membuktikan apakah film animasi inggris
bisa meningkatkan prestasi siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Driyorejo.
Menurut temuan dari siklus pengamatan, para siswa bahasa dari SMA Negeri 1 Driyorejo memiliki masalah asimilasi bahan pelajaran. Itu disebabkan kurangnya kosakata para siswa dan mereka tidak mengerti apa yang penutur asli katakan. Untuk mendapatkan data tersebut, ada 35 siswa yang berisi 9 laki-laki dan 26 perempuan di kelas bahasa di SMA Negeri 1 Driyoreio. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, tes dan
kuesioner. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah kualitatif untuk observasi, dan statistik untuk tes mendengarkan dan kuesioner ada tiga langkah seperti, pra-siklus, siklus I dan siklus II untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan penggunaan film animasi
dengan menggunakan media film animasi telah meningkatkan
keterampilan mendengarkan siswa. Itu ditemukan dengan
membandingkan hasil dari pra-tes, pasca-tes I dan pasca-tes II. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa murid-murid yang mendengarkan acara ini menjadi lebih baik setelah menggunakan film animasi Inggris. Siswa yang mencapai nilai minimum sebanyak 3% untuk pra-test, 46% untuk pasca-tes I dan 77% untuk pasca-tes II. Dari hasil pengamatan, di sana menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman siswa tentang teks eksplanasi. Ada 71,4% siswa yang sangat setuju bahwa mereka menikmati belajar menggunakan film animasi. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan dari para siswa yang prestasi mendengarkan di SMA Negeri 1 Drivorejo Ketika menggunakan film animasi.
