Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find out about the viewpoints of Grammarly users on thesis writing for undergraduate students in Surabaya. This study was conducted to discover how Grammarly's functionality aids undergraduate students in thesis writing and to learn about their reactions to its usage. It is hoped that it will later be used as one of the evaluation resources for associated parties, particularly in terms of achieving maximum English acquisition.
This study used a qualitative case study as a design to explore undergraduate students' perspectives on the use of Grammarly for thesis writing. The subjects of this study were three undergraduate students from the English department in Surabaya, each of whom participated in individual interviews. The data was collected through individual interviews with the type of semi-structured interviews, which were transcribed and analyzed using thematic analysis.
Based on the data of the research, there are five different views and perspectives on the result of using Grammarly in thesis writing by English department students in Surabaya. 1) Automatic mistakes scanner, 2) shorten the time in correcting writing mistakes, 3) Vocabulary enhancement, 4) plagiarism content checker, 5) Improve writing accuracy. The Use of Grammarly on thesis writing for English department students in Surabaya has various help for the writer to get better results on paperwork.
